The choice of a tool supplier is a process of evolution. When we began production machining, we had been sourcing from multiple vendors. We found ourselves in a constant state of short supply and excessive costs for expedited shipping. Trying to guess at the number of end mills, drills, inserts, etc. at product launch was seldom successful, and lead to excessive quantity buying and next day shipping. Machine down time was not uncommon due to tooling availability. All these factors created increased overall project costs.

Being that we are a smaller facility, it takes care of ordering the tools and creating various reports for traceability while being very organized.
